There’s a City in China That Was Built to Replicate Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Posted by in category: futurism

Welcome to jackson hole WY in china.

You can very literally travel around the world without stepping a foot outside of China, thanks to the country’s ” One City, Nine Towns” initiative. The world’s most populous country has another replica to add to this list: Jackson Hole, China—complete with awe-inspiring mountain vistas, log cabins aplenty, and more mounted taxidermy than you’re likely to find anywhere else in the country. The biggest difference is that you won’t find any skiing opportunities at China’s take on the American destination.

You Haven’t Lived Until You’ve Seen Norway’s Fjords from This Incredible Platform

Posted by in category: futurism

A new way to view the motherland of the Vikings.

All acrophobiacs aside, you shouldn’t go through life without taking in Norway’s fjords from the new spectacular platform that’s opening up to the public this summer. The platform itself is nestled right above a cliff, thousands of feet from the ground. If you’re looking for incredible views of the fjord- and forest-covered countryside, add this to your tourist attraction bucket list.

Code—a Norwegian architecture firm that won a competition to design this platform—added walkways running alongside and underneath the actual podium, which is located at Utsikten (one of the country main tourist routes).

Not just Apple. 2016 could prove to be a year of acquisitions leading into 2017. With investors pulling back and some great start ups around; could prove a great year for M&A in tech.

Apple is giving strong hints that it sees the current landscape as a buyer’s market for technology companies.

An engineer replaced his 4 monitors with Meta glasses — and it might be the future of work

Posted by in categories: augmented reality, futurism, virtual reality

I see VR & AR changing how the entire back office and front office interact with their applications, network, and platforms. In HR for example, VR will enable HR a new way to view candidates & the candidate’s video resume, with AR glasses/ contact lenses capabilities no longer does a person have to locate their tablet or laptop to entire changes/ideas/ etc. because with VR they can efficiently capture information on the spot, the list goes on. The bottom line is with VR/ AR, companies are more efficient in its operations.

Rare talent needed to predict 2016 stock market

Posted by in categories: finance, futurism

Attention to all fortune tellers, tea leave readers, Shaman/ Shawoman, etc. Wall Street needs a new futurist to predict the 2016 Stock Market.

So far, 2016 has been the worst opening act in the history of the stock markets. The moving parts, and the speed at which they are changing is mind dulling. Predicting what is coming next will take a rare talent – if it does exist, it will likely be fleeting.

Investment success is really a combination of common sense, experience, and to some extent luck. Part of my plan going into the next 10 months is to review my investment thesis. In other words, define what I believed before they year began, so here goes.

Rogue Terminator robots to become reality in just a few years… will hunt down and exterminate humans to reduce world population

Posted by in categories: futurism, robotics/AI

There is only 2 avenues that “terminator robots” will exist: 1) criminals and terrorists have their followers/ pay some engineers to reprogram the robots and equip them to kill or explode themselves 2) a rogue nation like N. Korea decides to acquire (if not build) and regineer them to kill and deploys them on their neighbors, etc. The reality is robotics and humanoid robotics is even more complex; chances of this happening may be at a 20 to 30% range (if I was to take a guess).

So often Hollywood serves as a sort of idea test-bed for futuristic scientific concepts that often have a habit of becoming reality, but back in 1984 when The Terminator was released, hardly anyone believed that “killer robots” would someday become a reality.

But today, as robotics becomes a much more mature scientific field of study, the possibility that governments or private entities could “program” killer robots to take out certain targets or even entire populations is not so far-fetched anymore. In fact, it’s downright chilling.
