A Chip in My Hand Unlocks My House. Why Does That Scare People?

Posted by in categories: bioengineering, business, computing, transhumanism

Nearly 50 years ago, The New York Times—widely considered America’s paper of record—changed the media industry by creating the first modern Op-Ed page. Since then, their Opinion section has arguably become the most important voice for many public ideas that enter and change the world. Everyone from Heads of State to the globe’s most powerful business people to Nobel Prize winners to everyday citizens have written there when they had something essential to say about the times we live in. I’m super excited to share my first Op-Ed for The New York Times on #biohacking and the growing concern of legalizing implants. It’s a happy professional day for me, and an important step forward for the growing #transhumanism movement as we begin to enter mainstream culture.

Implant technology can change the world — unless politicians give in to the hysteria against it.

Transhumanist science will reshape what it means to be human

Posted by in categories: science, transhumanism

I’ve been wanting to write on this quintessential #transhumanism debate for a long time: whether a copy of you is…well you. Here’s my new article for Quartz: https://qz.com/1616187/transhumanist-science-will-reshape-wh…-be-human/ #Omnipotism #Philosophy #LifeExtensionGameTheory

Death could soon become a curable disease

Posted by in categories: biotech/medical, life extension, transhumanism

I’m excited to share my new #transhumanism article out at Metro, on of UK’s largest sites. It’s part of their #FutureofEverything series. Check out the artwork too:

Whatever science transhumanists want to use to become a better species, overcoming biological death is the movement’s primary goal.

Most deaths in the world are caused by ageing and disease. Approximately 150,000 people die every day on planet Earth, causing devastating loss to loved ones and communities.

Discrimination By The Technological Elite – FB Edition

Posted by in categories: humor, transhumanism

The behavior of these Technological Corporations are outside of our societal norms. This behavior lacks a level of enlightenment and freedom. Which as Transhumanists we should be against.

On May 2nd, the village idiots at Facebook made a decision to ban speech. Mainly, the decision was to ban the conservative voices of Alex Jones, Paul Joseph Watson, Milo Yiannopoulos, and Laura Loomer. This ban also impacted Louis Farrakhan, how he got lumped into this group is kind of funny, Facebook must have wanted to add a brown face to the white people who got banned. Thinking that this would be ok, because it is not just, white conservatives.

What I find is the biggest joke of this, is that the label that Facebook used was “Extremist” and “Dangerous” for these individuals and the groups that they represent. Which is not based on facts or proof, because I doubt if any of these individuals have a felony conviction.

Michael Phelps: The ‘natural’ transhuman athlete

Posted by in categories: genetics, transhumanism

#Interesting #opinion This was brought up a decade ago, yet he was never asked to alter his genetics to make it fair for others. Is the current case one of discrimination? The recent work on the Chinese CRISPER babies showed that it augmented their ability. Will CRISPER babies also have in the future to “Change Their Genetics” to compete in sports if deemed unfair advantage?

Posted by in categories: cyborgs, internet, robotics/AI, transhumanism

Robotics specialist German Bionic is to present the first connected robot exoskeleton for use with the industrial internet of things, at the Hannover Messe industrial technology show.

The German Bionic IO cloud platform connects the third generation of the Cray X exoskeleton with all common enterprise solutions and networked manufacturing systems, enabling complete integration into “smart factory” and Industry 4.0 environments.

Besides cloud services such as wireless software updates – over the air – and predictive maintenance, German Bionic IO facilitates the continuous optimization of the intelligent control system through machine learning and lays the data-scientific foundation for the next development stages of bionics.
