Elon Musk has pulled more than 50 Tesla employees into his Twitter takeover

Posted by in categories: business, Elon Musk, space travel, sustainability

But do they really have the necessary skillset? The new CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, has authorized 50 employees from his other companies, such as Tesla, SpaceX, and the Boring Company, to help him handle matters at the social media company, according to a report by CNBC.

Musk has billed himself as a free speech absolutist, but he has to balance those wishes with laws and business realities. He said in an open letter to advertisers last week as he was taking over the company: “Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said with no consequences.”

It is not immediately clear how Tesla employees are expected to split their schedules between the automaker and Twitter.

With all this focus on Elon Musk and Twitter, you may have missed this one from Twitter

Posted by in category: Elon Musk

The White House deleted a tweet after it was fact checked by not only Twitter, but CNN’s fact-checker Daniel Dale. Elections to me are often more comedy than content. Ironically the White House and all who want the blue tic authenticity will have to pay Musk whether they like it or not. The exodus should be interesting to watch, but if Musk makes some magic on Twitter, many may have to join again and pay to have relevance on Twitter, so Musk’s main focus right now should be on features. If it should be on something else, by all means tell me what has more value. I said focus on Twitter as there is no need to tell competitors everything but the kitchen sink (that Musk brought in on day one). Its nice to watch people find one feature try to respond, not knowing many features are coming before they can even implement one. Its a psychological war that can have someone beat, and thinking they can’t compete. MySpace has been better than Facebook. Drake was discovered on MySpace, not Facebook. Yet MySpace hasn’t been able to capitalize on such realities. Transmeta also could not focus on it’s strengths, and Intel easily beat them.

Elon Musk’s Starlink buys ad time on Elon Musk’s Twitter

Posted by in categories: Elon Musk, internet, space

The employees past and present are calling it a Twitter “takeover.”

Elon Musk, in a move to wrap himself up in a blanket of his own financing, has bought ad space on Twitter. SpaceX bought the ads for Starlink, and they will play on top of the Twitter platform’s feed for one day in Spain and Australia.

In a tweet in reply to another Twitter account Musk said of the deal, “SpaceX Starlink bought a tiny — not large — ad package to test effectiveness of Twitter advertising in Australia & Spain. Did same for FB/Insta/Google,”

The Naval Fleet of Drones

Posted by in categories: drones, Elon Musk, military, robotics/AI

I’ve funded Ukraine media, the Ukraine army, and now I just funded the Ukraine navy. The navy part is extra interesting because it is “the world’s first naval fleet of drones”. That is pretty futuristic!

As Elon Musk said, “Future wars are all about the drones.”

Small and fast unmanned ships 3 russian vessels were damaged, including the Admiral Makarov, flagship of the russian Black Sea Fleet. This is the first case in history where the attack was carried out exclusively by unmanned vessels.

Don’t understand Elon Musk? Here’s the theory that makes simple sense of a complicated man

Posted by in categories: Elon Musk, neuroscience

This describes the essential Musk — with the caveat that it leaves out his autism and emotional fragility. He has the right philosophy and the brains to make serious progress, but with some surprisingly unexpected naïve schoolboy level mistakes and misunderstandings about human nature. Regardless, he will learn from them.

We may have cracked the code.

Twitter might attract FTC fines for non-compliance.

The world’s richest person Elon Musk has warned staff at this newly acquired social media company that bankruptcy was very much a possibility at Twitter. The result has been an exodus of top executives at the company, The Guardian.

Nearly two weeks after finally agreeing to acquire Twitter, Musk held an all-hands meeting at the company and once again spoke about the amount of money the company was losing. According to The Information, Musk warned that the current cash outflow rate at the company would lead to a negative balance of billions of dollars by 2023. His idea of Twitter Blue subscriptions was the only way to keep the company alive.

SpaceX shakes up Starship leadership in Texas as push for the rocket’s next milestone intensifies

Posted by in categories: Elon Musk, space travel

Elon feels that Starship is moving too slow so he is now throwing a lot more resources at it.

While Elon Musk earns daily headlines over changes at Twitter, a significant reorganization is underway at his space company’s Texas launch facility.

SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell and vice president Mark Juncosa – two of the most influential executives at the company aside from Musk himself – are now overseeing the facility and operations of the company’s Starbase location, people familiar with the situation told CNBC.
